• Fridge Logic: While putting out the chimney fire, all three firemen can be heard coughing. Why didn't they use their breathing apparatuses?
• Funny Moments: While Dilys is upset about her missing earrings, she mentions that she wears them when she goes out. Norman muses that she never goes out.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: When hearing about a potential thief in town, Dilys faffs on about phoning the police. Pontypandy would later acquire a real police service in Series 12 with the introduction of PC Malcolm Williams.
