YMMV / Fighting Foodons

Go To

  • Anticlimax Boss: Some of the main enemy Foodons get beaten remarkably quickly; though it is probably due to time restraints for the show.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Episode 4 has a terrified Pie Tin suddenly dreaming up a catchy though bizarre Villain Song called "We're the Reason You're Afraid!" while he imagines what's lurking in the haunted mansion. Presumably to fill time after a chunk of footage that got cut out of the original Japanese version.
  • Cult Classic: The show has a small but loyal fanbase who love it for how gloriously over-the-top it is and for its fun cast of characters and monsters. Even the 4Kids dub is widely regarded as one of the best dubs they did, which is no doubt helped by the fact they embraced how nuts the anime is and ran with it.
  • Draco in Leather Pants: Clawdia is a shapely Cat Girl who is also an Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain. Explaining her fanbase shouldn't be necessary.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Coco and Clawdia, especially after the latter returns to her real form near the end of the series.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Pig Foodons caused "swine flu." Depends on whether or not you ever took the threat of the virus seriously.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: An anime based around food and cooking? What a silly notion. Oh wait...
  • Narm Charm: The probable reason why this show has any sort of fanbase in the first place: It's so blazing ridiculous, it's endearing.
  • The Woobie: The Burnt Meatballs are just so pathetic! And they just want to help... They do in the end as they are one of the "ingredients" for a really strong fire-based Foodon, being fireproof and all.
