YMMV / Felicity

  • Common Knowledge: Ratings dropped the second that Keri Russell cut her hair short? Well yes there was an overlap there, but the show also had its timeslot moved from Tuesday night to Sunday night, which was the WB's weakest day. The ratings decline actually began before the haircut, because of the timeslot moving and other storytelling changes. Even the WB themselves blamed the haircut for the ratings, and instigated a rule that no young stars on their network shows could change their hair without permission first.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Ben and Felicity.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • One of J. J. Abrams' last "realistic" projects before he took a hard turn into action sci-fi/fantasy... and yet he still puts in a mystery box.
    • Alias was born from an idea that Abrams had for a Plot Twist in which it turned out that Felicity was a CIA agent all along. Keri Russell would one day get to play a spy on TV — and what's more, it would be a KGB agent out to subvert America, not unlike how the First-Episode Twist on Alias had Sydney Bristow find out that she was actually working for the bad guys.
    • Keri Russell would eventually play a spy in a J.J. Abrams project.
    • In the 12th episode, Sensa tells Felicity that she could make a lot of money if she sold her hair.
  • Never Live It Down: The Important Haircut, which is the only thing many people remember about the show.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Taraji P. Henson appears as an art student and one of Noel's fellow R.A.s in Season 1.
  • Unnecessary Makeover: General consensus towards the infamous haircut, since it was clearly done by someone inexperienced with cutting curly hair, and it looked rough and uneven. It didn't help that every other character kept going on about how good it looked.
