YMMV / Fate Orbis Telos

Go To

  • Adorkable: Misaki is a mystery buff who loves her job, is a big fan of Sherlock Holmes, and has a whole bookshelf full of mystery novels.
  • Complete Monster: There are many 'evil' Player Characters in the Orbis Telos verse, but a few of them have crossed the line to this trope, which marks them as repugnant even to the jaded characters of the Nasuverse.
    • Bethany S. Innsmouth, a Dead Apostle Ancestor who has committed various acts of mass murder, including of children, and finds Humans boring compared to Lovecraftian Eldritch Abominations. The Holy Church has declared her worthy of extermination for her many, many atrocities and the threat she poses to Mankind as a whole, but she is so strong that no one is going after her as of 8/21/2020.
    • Falk König (More on the Moral Event Horizon entry below) is another child murderer who runs an Orphanage of Fear masquerading as an Orphanage of Love and one of the most powerful Clock Tower characters in the RP, although he is more circumspect with his atrocities as despite the CT's callousness in both Canon and OT, they'd find many of his actions loathsome beyond even their low standards.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Quite a few, due to the large cast. A few examples are:
    • Zoé Yggdmillenia, a discarded Homunculus adopted into the Yggdmillenia Family, whose ongoing career included surviving many battles, falling in love, and becoming a Dead Apostle. As of 8/19/2020, she has started a thread to become Yggdmillenia's new leader in a coup to take it away from its current holder, Partich Valber T. Yggmillennia. Plus, she has Genghis Khan as a Servant.
    • Rex Lombardi of the Clock Tower (played by Caelum), who despite being nigh-useless in combat due to lack of training in Magecraft, has had the skill and luck to survive numerous events and fights with enemy Servants. And as of 8/21/2020, he has survived an entire year in the Reverse Side of the World, another plane of existence in the Nasuverse which is extremely dangerous for Humans, growing further in raw power and strength. He is the Master of Mordred Pendragon.
    • Airik, a now-defunct character who started out as a joke but who became one of the top three strongest Magi on the site before hie retirement. A naturally-competitive youth who wishes to prove that his Runic Magecraft was stronger than everyone else, he has traits of what would be a rival character in any shonen manga... Only in this game, he wins the grand majority of his fights. He was the master of both Brynhildr and Altera, due to now-obsolete rules allowing him to use a 'Mana Generator' to support a second Servant.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: In this Alternate Timeline, Noritaka Emiya from Fate/Zero did not mess with Vampirism and thus had a long and happy life of kicking puppies... Before causing the IRL 2011 Fukushima Incident and getting taken down by Takashi, his extracanonical grand-nephew.
  • Lighter and Softer: Arguably this for the Canon Characters who were still born in this timeline and are not utter monsters, like Kiritsugu Emiya, who is still living a long and happy life with Shirley despite his father living longer and eventually disgracing the Emiya Family anyway. Same for Shirou, whom Word of God from the official Discord Server has said is merely an ordinary person who took up a firefighting job and collects antique swords.
  • Memetic Mutation: For a site which has ran since 2016, there are plenty. Some examples include:
    • E L E V E NExplanation
    • Darvish SmolExplanation
    • ManletExplanation
  • Moral Event Horizon: The murders of Luxembourg's Grand Duke and Duchess by Turncoat Xander Papadopoulos, formerly one of their most trusted bodyguards. Subverted, though, when he turns out to be innocent.
    • Noritaka Emiya causing the 2011 Fukushima Disaster (which in IRL came from an earthquake) in this timeline, a step up from his already-heinous actions in Canon. Even worse was that he did this after a longer-than-canon career of dog-kicking due to averting his original MEH in Fate/Zero only to ruin the Emiya Family further down the line.
    • Bethany S. Innsmouth sacrificing children to summon her Servant and turning other kids into her vampiric minions.
    • Falk König (played by Flood) is one of the most powerful members of the Clock Tower, and regularly, painfully turns children into monsters and implants them into his own body in order to grow more powerful.
