- All Animation Is Disney: Despite being a Ruby-Spears show, it is often mistaken to be a Hanna-Barbera show, due to using the Scooby-Doo formula and having a similar art style. It doesn't help that Joe Ruby and Ken Spears actually created Scooby-Doo. At one point, Boomerang even included it in their Meddling Kids block, which added fuel to the confusion. Even worse when Turner bought both Ruby-Spears and Hanna-Barbera and linked the former's collection into part of HB's, making it technically a Hanna-Barbera show, despite it being, at least originally, a Ruby-Spears one.
- Retroactive Recognition:
- Susan Blu makes her voice acting debut as Kim.
- The Scrappy: Fangpuss was a controversial character in the mold of Scrappy Doo (who happened to debut on TV on the same day yet!).
- Shipping:
- Biff and Kim are clearly understood to be the official couple of the group.
- The tension displayed between Fangface and Puggsy is sometimes used to support the idea of there being a ship between the two.
- Spiritual Sequel: Though often dismissed as a Scooby-Doo knock-off, Fangface was created by the exact same two guys (Joe Ruby and Ken Spears), making Spiritual Sequel probably a more accurate way to describe it.
