• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • The closet pervert scout leader doesn't seem so funny now that The Boy Scouts of America have folded in February of 2020 by bankruptcy due to the sexual abuse accusation list shown in 2012, and has been the result of numerous lawsuits by the abused.
  • After Stewie walks in on Peter and Lois having sex, Lois tries to assure him that what they were doing was perfectly natural, but Stewie refuses to believe her, saying that what he witnessed was "ghastlier than a thousand ghouls". A much later episode would have Stewie walk in on Peter and Lois having sex again, and this time, the sight traumatizes him so much that he develops a Split Personality (and, unlike last time, it's not Played for Laughs).
• Heartwarming Moments: Peter and Chris bond in the forest, with Peter telling Chris that he is a great artist.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Peter mentions the time he pretended to be gay, followed by a flashback of him watching Caroline in the City. In a later episode, he would become gay for real after being injected with an experimental drug.
• Misblamed: Combined with Offending the Creator's Own; When the episode first aired, Seth MacFarlane got some angry hate mail from Canadian viewers, due to Peter's comment at the end, "Canada Sucks." In response, he points out that Ricky Blitt, who wrote the episode, is himself Canadian.
