  • Don't Shoot the Message: A problem many had with the episode is that, during Brian's rant while Shaming the Mob, he made a very valid call out on internet culture and Twitter, it's just the episode itself fails to execute it in a meaningful way. People can be quick to freak out over a tweet and call someone a racist or "cancel" them rather than focus on more legitimate issues, while acting like a single tweet defines a person's moral character. Except whereas real cases of this have the tweet be spawned from ignorance, not racism. Brian knew his tweet was racist but posted it anyway. Then he figured people just can't take a joke when it was reacted to negatively. Also most of the vitriol from real life cases comes from online, not IRL like an actual lynch mob. And of course, real life cases have the person who made the tweet at least apologize, something Brian refuses to do until the end, where he instead snaps at the mob while invoking Never My Fault.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Some people who hate this episode would like to pretend that it along with "Peter IV" and "Crimes and Meg's Demeanor" never happened due to all the horrible treatment that Brian and the Griffins get from all of Quahog from Brain's racially insensitive joke.
  • Karmic Overkill:
    • Yes, Brian can be a douchebag about his opinions, but it doesn't warrant the horrible treatment he received in this episode.
    • The treatment the rest of the Griffin's receive from Quahog. While their not publicly denouncing Brian at first could be cause for irritation from the town, the town takes their disdain for the Griffin's way too far, Joe threatening to arrest Peter over the tweet if he doesn't leave their booth, a bunch of students threatening to assault and then kill Chris and Meg (who do it to the mob instead), and pretty much want to lynch the Griffins until they make a show of kicking Brian out.
  • Moment of Awesome: Chris and Meg fighting the school set to the guitar solo of Free Bird- and winning.
  • Signature Scene:
    • Whenever people think of this episode, they think of the scene where Meg and Chris fight the school.
    • People would also remember Brian laying a massive rant at the mob after they wouldn't give him a chance to apologize when remembering this episode.
  • Strawman Has a Point: When Brian's kicked out, he questions why Peter is allowed to stay in spite of all the trouble, including multiple instances of causing angry mobs, he's caused over the years.
