YMMV / Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind

Go To

  • Awesome Art:
    • The Super Famicom remake has some very impressive visuals for a Super NES game, with the backgrounds and certain shots of the characters having a high amount of detail.
    • The Nintendo Switch remake of the second game ups the detail even further than the Super Famicom version, with the characters showing occasional fluid animation for key scenes in the story.
  • Good Bad Bugs: The Super Famicom version of the second game gives the characters much more detailed lip flaps, which are animated each time a character is typed in the dialogue box. However, the English fan translation, given the amount of characters used in the English language, will have the characters' lip flaps move at impossibly large speeds, which can look very jarring and even downright hilarious.
  • Never Live It Down: Ayumi Tachibana seems to be renowned in the Japanese fandom for her reckless action of drugging the protagonist with a sleeping pill in his coffee. Even the Japanese description of her trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee lampshaded this.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The reveal of Shinobu's decayed corpse at the end of The Girl Who Stands Behind is pretty creepy, with it suddenly falling on top of Hibino during a scuffle.
