YMMV / Fahrenheit 9/11

  • Do Not Do This Cool Thing: It manages to actually deconstruct this, if only in passing. In the short clip of US soldiers talking about the music they invade Iraq to, they mention "Fire Water Burn" which then becomes the background music played over clips of rioting people and politicians speaking that they will not surrender. There is also a brief interview with another soldier who says that real war is much less exciting than video games. In this film, War Is Hell in general - it is portrayed mostly by clips of injured civilians and soldiers, street riots and news reports, ironically contrasted with politicians' speeches.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: It is more like intrigued, but viewers in more repressive regimes have noted that they were amazed that Michael Moore was allowed to say such negative things about his country's leader in this film.
  • Never Live It Down: Britney Spears' saying that the public should always trust the president, no matter what, haunted her for years afterward — she even won a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress for her brief appearance — even though in-context it was just being used as an example of people holding an overly reverential attitude towards the presidency, rather than attacking Spears specifically.
  • No Such Thing as Bad Publicity: Michael Moore even begged the protestors that were against the movie to keep protesting on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
