YMMV / Face's Music Party

Go To

  • Adorkable: Face is still the nice guy they've always been. They're always enthusiastic, playful, zany, and a little clumsy, and their trademark three-note trumpet Verbal Tic endeared them to many children in the 90's and today.
  • Awesome Music: The Thematic Theme Tune of the show is a very upbeat, groovy tune. The lyrics all tie back into the theme, which is a dance party with a wide genre of music to choose from.
  • Fan Nickname: Most people call this version of Face "Face 2.0", despite it explicitly stated that this version is the exact same character as Face from the 90's bumpers. It helps that "Face 2.0" was the name given to this incarnation of Face during production of the show.
  • Fanon: Despite this version of Face being explicitly stated to be the same Face as the one from the 90s, fans and detractors tend to treat Face 2.0 as a separate entity from Face 1.0, if not also as a younger sibling or relative to the older Face.
  • Questionable Casting: A vocal portion of people who grew up with Face was absolutely livid when the news broke that Chris Phillips, the original voice of the character, would be replaced with Cedric L. Williams, saying that the new voice actor doesn't capture the same charm Phillips had. The growing consensus is that Phillips should have voiced the character in the first episode before switching to Williams to help ease the transition.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: There is a vocal minority who utterly despises Face's overly cutesy design, with many in this group saying that Face's redesign lost its charm. That said, most people who grew up with Face in the 90s either like or are indifferent to the new look.
