- Awesome Music: The whole album.
- Crosses the Line Twice: Dear god, "Flower". At the time it was released it was very possibly the single most sexually explicit song ever written by a female musician.
- Most Wonderful Sound: Phair's backing vocals in the second half of "Johnny Sunshine". Also, despite its (mostly undeserved) reputation as a "lo-fi" album, its guitar tone in general is very pleasant to listen to.
- Narm: Gunshy! (Wife!) Gunshy! (Wife!)
- Tough Act to Follow: Sure, the later albums get some decent praise (even the self titled, although debates still go with Funstyle), but compare them to this one, the opinions get stark fast.
