- Catharsis Factor: Coopersmith getting back at those responsible for him Being Tortured Makes You Evil.
- Complete Monster: Father Lorenzo Esteban was a Satanic priest who murdered numerous innocents, slaughtering them in grim sacrifice before being caught and exiled from Spain. When his evil spirit is found by a bullied young cadet, Esteban corrupts him into evil until he allows the wicked priest to possess him, whereupon Esteban goes on a brutal killing spree to massacre everyone in the near vicinity.
- Moral Event Horizon: Bubba and his friends killing Coopersmith's puppy as a sacrifice. While it doesn't work (due to the sacrifice requiring human blood), it's what finally motivates Coopersmith to make a Deal with the Devil so he can get revenge.
- Nightmare Fuel: Pigs being possessed and eating people, including a scene where said pigs break into a woman's bathroom and eat her while she's in her bath, messy decapitations aplenty, and blood and gore all over the place with Ominous Latin Chanting in the background. And as if that wasn't nightmarish enough already, the movie ends with the possessed computer flashing a message saying "I will return."
- Retroactive Recognition: Loren Lester and Richard Moll who both acted in this film would a decade later be the voices of Robin and Two-Face in Batman: The Animated Series.
- Rooting for the Empire: This is pretty much inevitable, given almost everyone who gets killed is a total asshole.
- They Copied It, So It Sucks!: It's been criticized on the grounds that it's basically a genderbent Carrie, although some like it for precisely that reason.
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: It's really hard to care for anyone in this film from the beginning to the end considering it takes place in a World of Jerkass and follows a Protagonist Journey to Villain following Being Tortured Makes You Evil.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: The makeup and gore effects in this film are very impressive, particularly in the climax with Stanley exacting spectacularly bloody revenge on his tormentors. Also noteworthy are the intricate animations used to represent Father Esteban's power and influence, including the 2001-esque finale.
