• Fridge Brilliance: Shinji says in episode 6 that he doesn't know Strike (Spirit Command in Super Robot Wars).
• Heartwarming Moments: After the angel fight in episode 6
• It Was His Sled: Lampshaded by Misato in Episode 3: "You don't wanna spoil the two people who haven't seen this show."
