YMMV / Eternal Damnation

Go To

  • Funny Moments: Despite the more darker and serious tone, John is still allowed to piss just like the Postal Dude. He even has lines when doing so!
"Anyone want a mouth full of piss?"
"Hold on, let me just pull my cock out."
"I think my dick's about to throw up."
    "Drink this you cocksuckers!"
  • Heartwarming Moments: The rednecks, in contrast with their canon counterparts, are genuinely friendly and helpful. They protect John and care for his well-being, which makes it tragic when they get crushed by the rocks.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The taller skinned zombies introduced at the Museum are still scary to look at, but also come across as mildly amusing nowadays due to their resemblance to the Colossal Titan.
  • Narm: The sheer amount of swearing may make the game hard to take seriously, especially with John himself. While it does make sense for some of his lines when killing people, the fact he inserts it into casual voice lines makes it feel like he's trying really hard to be edgy.
  • Nightmare Fuel: As edgy as this game can be, some moments are genuinely horrifying.
    • One of the first things that happens is a series of jump scares appearing before you control John, complete with lovely depictions of violently damaged heads.
    • The improved gore allows for some sickening sights, as heads can be seen cut in half and the aforementioned Jump Scare having a head split open.
  • Polished Port: The Steam release has widescreen support, a free roam mode, less bugs thanks to being based on the complete edition of Postal 2, restored cut content, improved levels, a improved HUD, and the jump scares being less loud. Only issue is the multiplayer mode being removed, as it would be too difficult to recreate and the multiplayer for vanilla Postal 2 being no longer supported.
  • Tear Jerker: John truly does love Lorie, and is heartbroken over her betrayal and eventual death. It all results in him killing himself so he can be with her. Despite everything, you can't help but feel bad for the guy.
