- Archive Panic: His discography includes 21 main albums. Plus mixtapes, collaboration albums, extended plays that he released inbetween his main albums. Also, a lot of his earlier releases are out of print, owing to uncleared samples and not being properly distributed outside of Detroit.
- Everyone Is Satan in Hell: After releasing several albums with heavily Satanic lyrics, Esham released the song "Migraine Headache", featuring Insane Clown Posse, contains the following lyrics:Shaggy 2 Dope: Is Esham Satanic?Violent J: Fuck that shit, I am! I'm Satan, bitch, Triple 6, goddamn!
- Mainstream Obscurity: Despite being name dropped by Eminem (who called himself a cross between Marilyn Manson, Esham and Ozzy Osbourne on his song "Still Don't Give a Fuck") and ICP, and appearing on albums by ICP, Kid Rock (Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp), Kool Keith and Twiztid, and having songs appear in some mainstream movies, including Bulworth, Esham's never had a hit single or album and remains obscure outside of Detroit.
- Narm: The chorus of "The Fear (Morty's Theme)". It's pretty hard to take Esham screaming "MORTY!!!" over and over seriously, even if you aren't picturing the Justin Roiland character in your head. The context that in the 1995 movie The Fear, which this is the Theme Tune for, Morty is a wooden carving possessed by a demon, doesn't help, either, because now you're no longer picturing Rick and Morty in your head, you're picturing Pinocchio, which is even Narmier.
- Overshadowed by Controversy: His entire career. First, his music was Overshadowed by the Hollywood Satanism controversy (which He Will Never Live Down), then by his beefs with other rappers, which included, but wasn't limited to, Esham getting chased by D12 and receiving a No Holds Barred Beat Down by the group because of a lyric he'd written about Eminem's daughter, as well as Esham throwing a bottle at D12's tour bus.
- Retroactive Recognition: Esham and Natas opened up for Kid Rock in 1991 when the latter was supporting his debut rap album, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, and Esham contributed the intro for Kid Rock's song "Live" off Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp in 1996. Two years later, Kid Rock went 7x platinum with his album Devil Without a Cause.
