  • Ass Pull: The time travel element half way in the game. It is not mentioned or foreshadowed a single time in any remote way until about ten minutes before it happens, and then it's never mentioned again.
  • Nightmare Retardant: Let's say you are a game designer for this game. Being a survival horror, the last thing you want to do is make the enemies incredibly easy to defeat. The giant Gorilla (on an island about bugs!) is just too silly and out of place to be intimidating. He's also easy to defeat.
    • You also should not give the player a gun and grenades when you force them to replay every level they've already beaten without these items.
  • Padding: The entire time travel element pretty much only exists to make it so you have to play the game twice in order to beat it, especially seeing as very few things actually change in the progression, and what changes do exist are almost 100% optional aside from the titular escape; in fact, the game will gladly let you literally just play the game twice in a row and stamp you with the bad ending for doing so.
