- Awesome Art: All the art in the Non-Collectible version is well done and detailed, beautiful to behold. While there were interesting designs in the TCG, the original version images was largely CGI and looked clunky.
- Cliché Storm: Epic Fantasy with angels, demons, sorcerers, monsters, minotaurs, vampires, dragons, zombies... Its surprising goblins and dwarves don't make an appearance.
- Narm: The Trading Card Game version calling life points "Mojo". The current game avoids this.
- Tough Act to Follow: Epic was White Wizard's follow up to Star Realms, which is highly acclaimed. Despite finding fans this game isn't as popular as Realms.
- They Copied It, So It Sucks!: The reaction to several elements that seem similar to Magic The Gathering - the fantasy theme, hit points, certain abilities, and pivoting cards to show when they are being used.
