• Adorkable: Randy is an excitable, sometimes child-like guy with such a sense of innocence to him, as well as a desire to help out.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Among the recurring platoon members there's Formerly Fit, Cultured Warrior Chubowski and surprisingly tough Genki Girl Park both have strong fanbases.
• Iron Woobie: Park was born in a North Korean labor camp where she was forcibly separated from her mother, and is going through a painful divorce with a husband she still loves. She became estranged from him due to an Apple of Discord comment about how he encouraged her to have a job where they'd spend less time together. Throughout all of this, she's still a dedicated soldier who rarely loses her Genki Girl demeanor.
• Moe: Private Park has a very huggable aura due to her cheery, go-getter attitude that rarely goes away unless she's talking about things that make her more sympathetic (the painful failure of her marriage or how she was born in a North Korean labor camp).
• Special Effects Failure: The one time we see Alpha Company wield their weapons is during a wargames exercise against an Italian unit where we see that their rifles don't have blank adaptors or MILES attachments and it's obvious, from the lack of muzzle flash, that the actors are merely jerking their props to simulate recoil. Then we see during the marksmanship test that the show is using airsoft guns instead of blank firing props, without even bothering to add muzzle flashes in post.
• Too Good to Last: An acclaimed comedy series which was cancelled after its first season.
