- Complete Monster: The First and Foremost Phanfasm, the Card-Carrying Villain in charge of Phanfasm Island, plunged the Emerald City into a brutal war which was only stopped when Ozma conceded William, a human prisoner—also the brother of the game's protagonist, Petra—for the First to condition as a spy. Twenty years later, in defiance of the peace treaty, the First tries to plunge Oz into another war for the pleasure of mass-murdering the innocent and taking power for its own sake. When William challenges the First's attempted execution of Queen Ozma, the First tries to kill William as well.
- Harsher in Hindsight: Queen Ozma's portrait hangs in Petra office and is used as a dart board. It is even made into a little Running Gag - for example, when Petra later sees the portrait at Riggedo's bar, she asks him if he minds playing a little game of dart. After The Reveal, it becomes painfully clear that Petra has more reasons to hate Ozma that she may think.
