- Angst? What Angst?:
- Though Sam wants to go home in the first series, he changes his mind at the end and it is never mentioned again. Whether he has family or friends who would miss him doesn't seem to concern him all that much.
- Penthisalea meets her long-dead mother, and then has no problem abandoning her to the afterlife again. The episode ends without really examining this very much. Or at all. Possibly (slightly) justified because Penth's mother turns out to be amazingly annoying, rude and clingy.
- Awesome Music: The theme music is suitably epic, as befits a grand fantasy adventure.
- Ho Yay:
- Lord Darkness and Kreech get a lot of these moments, particularly when they try and "create" a baby.
- It's very strongly hinted Dean has a one-sided crush on Vidar.
- Squick: One of Sam's more pathetic attempts to get in Penthisalea's britches involves drugging her with a love potion. This is Played for Laughs, as is Sam's complete callousness about it.
