  • Audience-Alienating Premise: A guy comes back to life in the form of a housefly and gets revenge on the men who killed him. Somehow it worksnote .
  • Evil Is Hammy: Sudeep, as Fly!Nani drives him increasingly nuts.
  • Moment of Awesome: When fly Nani etches "I WILL KILL YOU" on Sudeep's windshield.
  • Narm Charm: The entire film appeal rests on this. Special mention must go to Nani's resurrection, and his later Training Montage.
  • Paranoia Fuel: The concept of a fly getting revenge can seem funny at first...until you think about it. They're tiny, fast, capable of flight and damn near impossible to kill. Now imagine one's out to kill you. And there's no way you can tell anyone this without looking crazy.
  • Values Dissonance:
    • From many perspectives, Bindu's demonstrations of disinterest in Nani (including ignoring him when he attempts to get her attention and deleting his texts to her) are treated as her just playing hard-to-get despite how elsewhere, it would be treated as very clear signs that she doesn't want what he's selling, to the point where In-Universe his best friend often chastises him for what he sees as his friend's wild delusions. Bindu later calls Nani and actually apologizes for "ignoring" him the last two years.
    • Western audiences more used to moral ambiguity in revenge plots may be taken aback by how Nani and Bindu seem to have zero moral qualms about murdering someone. Though all things considered, Nani has a lot of justification for taking revenge since he was brutally murdered so Sudeep could manipulate and steal the woman he loves, while Bindu is horrified when she realizes why Sudeep is interested in her, as marriage and chastity are still a huge deal in India.
