• Catharsis Factor: It was satisfying to see Ed beat up Sarah and Kevin, especially the latter since he was the only one of the kids who attacked the Eds unprovoked.
• Fridge Brilliance: Why did the kids attack Edd and Eddy while leaving Ed alone, especially since it seemed like they were only going after Ed at first glance? They probably thought Eddy ordered Ed to beat them up, plus they were probably afraid that Ed would beat them up again if they attacked him — bullies tend to avoid those who can fight back, after all. As for Double D? He was just there — though it is hinted one of the reasons the kids hate him almost as much is because he does enable Eddy at times despite the fact he should know better and for all his moralism, probably would still stick by Eddy if he ordered Ed to attack the kids.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • Awesome as they may look, Ed's nightmare "flashes" of the Cul-de-Sac are deeply unsettling.
  • The A.K.A. Cartoon logo for this special, which goes too far in the violence department compared to the other variants. The screen is literally splattered with blood on a kids' show!
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Ed's "flashes" of the nightmare version of the Cul-de-Sac are more finely detailed and animated.
