  • Scrappy Mechanic: In Beyond, the physics and movement outside the moon colony are incredibly slow and jumping fixes you into a forward arc that can’t be adjusted. A couple of parts require you to master this jump to reach platforms or fall into a Bottomless Pit and restart from your last save point.
  • That One Sidequest: Getting the astral pieces from the casino staff. It requires finding claim tickets to get chips and playing a lot of roulette and blackjack until you win enough chips to impress the staff enough for them to pass on and give you their astral pieces. It requires a lot of luck and a few reloading saves to beat this, taking a couple of hours to finish. In addition, it clashes with the sidequests of the other ghosts as they’re unable to move on due to past regrets instead of wanting to see a big-shot gambler clean them out.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: Being a late PSX title, the second game has some very impressive graphics for the system. In particular, some of the items you pick up are rendered with great detail and the human models have well-textured faces and clothing.
