• Anti-Climax Boss: The second part of the final boss fight against Dr. Oliver Ornis can be beaten before he can show off half of his moves by continuously throwing attacks at him while taking few steps back or forward.
• Tearjerker: Koji's death. Oliver Ornis attempts to kill Quill with a gun when Koji flies in to take the bullet, losing his life to protect his friend in the process. Then, Ichiro flies to his now lifeless body and starts making his hurting chirp noise, clearly indicating he's mourning over Koji. And finally, to make already teary eyes even more wet, Koji comes back to life as a new being destined to protect the island like Armaura, and as a result has to leave his beloved friends behind.
• Viewer Species Confusion: The moth enemies seen in some areas - most notably Greenwood Glade which is the first level in the game - are referred to as birds by some despite having visible insect features, likely because their body shape and slow flapping wings (for an insect) are more reminiscent of a bird than a bug.
