• Nightmare Fuel:
  • The sight of Nina's sister's bloated corpse. It's even worse when a huge black eel slithers out of her mouth.
  • All four of the protagonists' fates:
    • Rebecca is mutilated and killed by one of Pearce's descendants.
    • Jack's head is slowly crushed in a bear trap.
    • Nina is captured and used as a Sex Slave.
    • Matt is slipped a paralysing agent and can only watch as he gets Eaten Alive.
• The Woobie: Nina's older sister drowned eight years ago while searching for the Tasmanian tiger. In an attempt to finish her work, Nina heads out to the same woods, eventually finding out that her sister was captured and used as a Sex Slave, possibly for years, before her death. Then Nina's friends start to die, and she eventually ends up in the exact same situation her sister was in - used as breeding stock by a monstrous Cannibal Clan. You've got to feel sorry for her.
