YMMV / DuckTales S1E2 "Armstrong"

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Armstrong take advantage of the triplets' statement that he's "the best friend a kid could ever have" to hurt Launchpad for no reason, or did he recognize that Launchpad was the most likely individual to fight him when he started taking over Duckburg and was trying to drive away one of the only people who could potentially pose a threat to his takeover plans?
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Or Hilarious in Hindsight, depending on how you see it. Armstrong cues the triplets in that something's wrong when he imitates Gyro and snappishly tells them not to bother him today. The triplets explicitly become suspicious because Gyro would never talk like that to them. About thirty years later, the Gyro from the 2017 reboot was written as more rough-edged, to some controversy in the fanbase.
    • During the episode, the triplets use Armstrong's computer brain to do their homework. Years later, the increasing rise of generational AI like ChatGPT resulted in disputes about "machine plagiarism."
