YMMV / DuckTales (2017) S3 E5 "Louie's Eleven!"

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: While it is expected in fiction for a heist to fail, but in this case the factors of failure were obvious from the start. How much of the failure of Louie’s heist was due to his stubbornness and poor planning, and how much of it was due to Donald’s supernatural bad luck and bad singing voice?
  • Catharsis Factor: When Donald comes to Daisy's defense against Glamour - a snob who tries to misblame Daisy for her party being hijacked and has a design that screams "bitch" - is so satisfying, especially when Donald shouts at her hard enough for her to fall backwards in shock. Animated revenge against all Bad Bosses and Rich Bitches everywhere.
  • Fanfic Fuel:
    • Within hours of the episode airing, fanfiction sites were flooded as fans speculated on Donald and Daisy's new relationship.
    • We've met Beaks's mom, but what about his aforementioned dad from a previous episode (When Mark mentions "coach dad")? Is he deceased? Is he alive? Are he and Emma divorced? Who knows?
    • The kind of person Beak's mother is like explains a lot about Mark himself. What was being raised by someone like Glamour like?
    • Since Daisy exists, who knows what kind of competition could arise between Donald and Gladstone?
  • I Knew It!: Thanks to their similar appearances, several fans suspected that Emma Glamour would be connected to Mark Beaks in some way. The episode reveals that they're mother and son.
  • Memetic Mutation: People have been editing the scene where Donald starts singing in the elevator to Daisy by replacing his song with others.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Many fans haven't had a very positive view on Daisy Duck over the years because of her many Kick the Dog moments that are the cause of her toxic relationship with Donald and her taking advantage of Minnie (who is supposed to be her best friend), leaving many fans believe Donald deserves a better girlfriend and she shouldn’t be Minnie’s best friend. In this episode, her Jerkass traits have vanished, she has more common traits that Donald has (besides his temper, which she always had in common with him), and it also shows the traits that Donald has that makes Daisy attracted to him that makes their interest in wanting to be together believable.
  • Strawman Has a Point: As nasty as Louie acts towards Dewey when the latter tries to give input on the scheme, Louie is better when it comes to stuff like this (or rather, he’s the only one who’s been doing stuff like this) compared to the impulsive Dewey. As such, it's not that wrong that Louie didn't really want his help.
  • Unexpected Character: Given that most of the people in Louie's scheme are recurring characters, the fact that Jane, a character from very early on in Season 1, returns is rather surprising.
    • The same can be said about Falcon Graves, who has not made an appearance on the show since his debut back in season one (not counting his shadow being seen in the season one finale).
