• Audience-Alienating Premise: On reading a number of North American comments from YouTube about the series on Netflix, a number of viewers 1uickly dropped the show when they realized the characters were the fantasy equivalent of whalers - with some going as far as accusing the show of being akin to propaganda for the Japanese whaling industry.
• Ugly Cute: The baby dragon that Takita befriends when stranded from the ship. It's oddly shaped, with a weird mouth and its body is mostly one long tail, but it's adorable in its belief Takita is its mother and how it dedicated itself to help her.
