YMMV / Dragon Master

• First Installment Wins: Treated much more favorably than The Masters Fighter, likely for actually trying to do its own thing instead of being a literal knock-off.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The final boss, Garner, is a demonic being whose stage is a fiery hell-like place and has a remarkably similar appearance (coloring aside) to that of Kazuya Mishima, of which the the first game of the Tekken series came out the same year as this game. Kazuya later became like Garner in the sequel when he merged with a supernatural entity known as "Devil".
  • Also another character who seems like a prophetically early incarnation of a modern day character in hindsight. The American^note (Or at least the Fantasy Counterpart Culture of the U.S.) soldier Jackie's play style is clearly based on Guile, but differs from the stoic family man by having a more cocky personality and narcissistic attention to his looks that make him similar to Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat. While aside from both being white guys who have the same nationality, Guile and Johnny had absolutely nothing in common until the later became a soldier in the United States military in Mortal Kombat X an entire twenty-one years later.
  • Joey's theme song sounds very similar to Aqua's "Barbie Girl" and Bubbles' "Happy Girl", released in 1997 and 2000, respectively.
• Suspiciously Similar Song: Jackie's theme contains a riff from Eric Clapton's "Layla".
