• Funny Moments: A lot of the comic is very dark in tone, but Mort is quite the Deadpan Snarker and drama queen, which leads to a surprising number of these.
  • The picture of him leaning up against a cabin and peacing out is pretty priceless.
  Mort: Come out, come out~!
  • After making a pages-long production of barfing up Noah, complete with "BLEH!" at the end, he wipes his muzzle daintily off with a paw.
  • There's more of them in the side-comic, "Raising Monsters," reserved for $10/month Patreons. It explores teenaged Mort's family life. The early scenes are with him and his (very) little brother Ash, somewhat akin to a karate green belt giving a newly minted white belt his first lessons, by instructing him how to set a stick on fire. Hilarity Ensues, and how. The farce that lesson becomes is comedy gold.
• Nausea Fuel: There's some mild examples of it after Noah's been swallowed, as there's an extended stretch with him trapped in Mort's stomach. Mort's stomach is exactly the sort of slimy, hostile and just plain gross environment one would expect of a carnivore's stomach, and there's only one way out. Plus the pages-long Vomit Indiscretion Shot of Mort horking Noah back up like a cat with a BIG hairball.
• Nightmare Retardant:
  • An angry or predatory Mort is the stuff nightmares are made of. But a sleeping Mort? He looks like a giant-sized puppy dog, down to turning in circles before he curls up.
  • Occasionally he does things that are just plain goofy.
