• Ass Pull: Certain elements of the story, such as the throwaway martial arts setting, the introduction of spirit bone, and special crystal needles are all brought up quickly and without much further explanation so Tang San can get new abilities and tools.
• Narm: A bit. The academy for all of the main characters is Shrek academy, and even uses the logo of a troll's head. But it's actually justified - Shrek academy only accepts students that are so powerful that they are 'monsters'. Also, while the main characters refer to themselves as siblings almost all of them end up in relationships with each other. While referring to somebody as 'brother' or 'sister' is a traditional form of address in China, having an almost-dating couple refer to each other that way sounds BrotherSisterIncest to Western ears.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: This story has a lot of this. In the first chapter, Tang San's original martial arts setting is completely thrown away just for the sake of him having special exclusive abilities from birth. They also gloss over Tang San's and Xiao Wu's school years, skipping straight to Shrek Academy.
