YMMV / Doraemon: Story of Seasons

Go To

  • Continuity Lock-Out: Though it doesn't impact your ability to progress on the game, a fair few cutscenes assume you have at least passing knowledge of the Doraemon franchise, particularly the gadgets where characters would mention them by name but not what they do.
  • Just Here for Godzilla:
    • Most American fans of Doraemon are getting this in hopes of continuing support of the franchise here in the U.S.
    • In a bizarre case this might be the only game where people want to skip all the gameplay and just watch cutscenes, as due to the surprisingly detailed plot the game can feel like a Doraemon movie interjected with farming.
    • Most Story of Seasons fans outside of Japan aren't familiar with Doraemon, so they're only into the game for the farming.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: The game has been praised for its art-style and soothing appeal.
  • Win Back the Crowd: Marriage aside (which isn't featured in this game since the protagonists are kids and Noby canonically gets married to Sue anyway), the game manages to win back the fans of the classic Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons due to the surprisingly similar gameplay to the Back To Nature era. Most of them crosses with the Doraemon fanbase as well.
