- Awesome Music: Soundtrack Dissonance aside, "Quei Giorni Insieme A Te", both Ornella Vanoniās sung version and the orchestral version, is a bittersweet yet beautifully haunting piece.
- Moral Event Horizon: Due to the Black-and-Gray Morality of the film there are many examples.
- Don Alberto murdered the boys because he believed that it was better for them to retain their purity before they get corrupted by unholy thoughts and desires.
- Some townspeople blame the string of child murders on a reclusive, unpopular witch named Maciara and lynch her based on zero evidence.
- Narm: The English-dubbed version.
- Nightmare Retardant: The closeups of Donald Duck's head in the newspaper article, complete with a Scare Chord. It's clearly meant to be shocking, but it just comes off as silly.
- Values Dissonance: A small one, but Don Alberto takes slight offense to Patrizia implying that his young sister Malvina is an idiot due to being "deaf and dumb" and corrects her by saying she's "retarded". Nowadays, it's ironically more offensive to call someone the latter term, regardless of that person's level of intelligence.
