- Demonic Spiders: The hooded enemies stand out as particularly dangerous as they tend to hit a lot harder than some other types.
- Ardan's Leutanants as well. Their spinning attack is not exactly the easiest to get through, and then there's their One-Hit Kill grab attacks.
- Goddamned Bats: The bow/crossbow wielding enemies can prove to be a nuisance - especially when paired up with certain other enemy types - as their ranged attacks are hitscan.
- Nightmare Fuel: The game can slip in a gloomy atmosphere at times. Particular highlight is a creepy theme that plays during the loading screen involving a view of Ardan's castle.note
- Scrappy Mechanic: Your attacks can only hit a single target even if there are at least two enemies in a way you'd expect to be able to hit them both. This can prove to be annoying if not even outright fatal at times.
- That One Level: Any time the player has to wade through water can be this, as not only do they revert to their default weapons, they also lose the ability to make the evasive jumping attack.
