• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The whole phone call the Doctor has about an Egyptian goddess running loose on the Orient Express in space has absolutely zero bearing on the now-concluded plot, which never comes up again for the rest of Eleven's run and the next story at Christmastime has nothing to do with it at all. It was originally a case of They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot, where the call was merely setup for an off-screen adventure. But it was too tantalizing to pass up in the long run, and Jamie Matheson later put his spin on it three seasons later with the Twelfth Doctor in the saddle and explains the Doctor procrastinated a long time before getting back to it and the person giving the phone call was actually a duplicitous A.I. trying to lure him into an experiment with a mummy and the half-truth notion of an Egyptian goddess. In the end, it turned into a BLAM.
• Tear Dryer: Rory cradles the body of Amy, whom he's years waiting for. As if by magic, the Doctor appears holding a mop and wearing a fez.
