YMMV / Disney's Hades Challenge

Go To

  • Funny Moments:
    • Several of Hades' quiz questions have him taking potshots at the god or goddess in question.
"Who is the goddess of agriculture? ...Well she always smelled like she stepped in somethin', I can tell ya that!"
Who was the twin of Apollo? ...Actually, I always thought his head and his backside could be twins.
Which god or goddess sprang from the head of Zeus? ...Given his swelled head all the gods in the world could fit in there, plus a coupla toaster ovens.
    • One of Hades' quiz questions asks "Which god or goddess was heavily disliked?" and he dares you to answer with himself. The answer is Ares, so answering Hades gets your trophy shrunk.
    • As early as your first quest, you can overhear a man brewing a fire potion in Crete. During the third quest, the shop explodes.
    • Charon's safety warning for crossing the River Styx has him declare that in case of an emergency... who cares, you're already dead.
  • Genius Bonus:
    • The branch Zeus gives you as a health meter is a golden bough of mistletoe, which was obscurely used in Greco-Roman mythology for the living to safely enter the Underworld and return.
    • Hercules being busy fighting giants is a reference to his role in the Gigantomachy, where he was instrumental in defeating them and protecting the pantheon.
  • No Problem with Licensed Games: From beautiful environments, good voice acting, fun challenges and a surprising fidelity to the source material for a Hercules game from Disney, the game has stood the test of time and is generally considered one of the better Disney games out there.
