YMMV / Dismember

Go To

  • Broken Base: Mostly over whether the albums released between Indecent and Obscene and The God That Never Was are even worth bothering, with Hate Campaign and Death Metal being especially disputed. The Self-Titled Album has some dispute as well.
  • First Installment Wins: Most death metal fans consider their debut Like an Ever Flowing Stream a classic album and one of the best in the genre period. Past that, Indecent and Obscene is highly regarded and so is The God That Never Was, with other albums being more...disputed. Also on Stream, the opening track "Override of the Overture" is generally considered the album and band's best song.
  • More Popular Spin-Off: Carnage isn't exactly obscure in the death metal community (or held in low regard; sometimes their album is seen as better than anything Dismember ever did), but generally speaking Dismember (or for that record, the other bands Michael Amott was in) are far more notorious than that group.
