• Alternate Character Interpretation: When Robbie finds out what responsibilities he has in being the supreme male of the house and Fran tells Robbie she can't do anything about it, is she simply following the law/rules of the situation or is she letting this be a life lesson for Robbie (and maybe a punishment for challenging his father), to see what being head of the household is like? The fact that she later has to convince Earl (when he no longer wants to handle the responsibility) to go with Robbie to switch duties back can suggest the later, though earlier when she said she couldn't do anything, it was before Earl started to embrace not having the responsibility (and likely would have been happy to switch back to normal).
