YMMV / Diminish

• Awesome Ego: Apollo constantly praises himself in the notes he writes.
• Funny Moments: Despite being a rather moody series with heavy subject matter, there is plenty of Bathos.
  • Will losing his shit at the end of Act 2, Episodes 6 and 8.
  • Act 1, Episode 7: The game unexpectedly responding to something the player says in real life is a common cliché in video game creepypasta, so the reason that it finally happens in Diminish is so mundane and petty that it instantly flips the series' somber tone. It's pretty clear that this is something Will and Teddy argued about more than once before she died.
  [Will is going through the "Soup of the Day" message, which is currently musing on tomato soup]
  Text: [...] I never found much appeal in a soup that is basically just varying qualities of 'liquid tomato.'
  Will: It's not! It's not, though.
  Text: Personally, I don't wake up in the morning and think, 'man, I sure wanna drink a tomato.'
  Will: It's not just a tomato! It's not just—
  Text: I can hear you right now, Will. I KNOW. I get it. That's not all it is. Good for you, bud.
  Will: *catches himself* OH-kay. You freakin'... *chuckles* Ah, whatever.
  • Tempting Fate moments are often this. For example, Will declaring himself a Gamer before promptly proving himself wrong.
  • Apollo himself is a great source of humor. Between some of his dialogue and his always Played for Laughs narcissistic tendencies, he really helps brighten up such a grey atmosphere.
• The Woobie: Will and Apollo, and especially Teddy.
