YMMV / Didnapper 2

  • Awesomeness Withdrawal: The fanbase suffered from this due to the developers' refusal to release a new demo after the (tweaked) third one that included Chapters 1 and 2, which was released back in May 2020. The slow pace of announcements and updates didn't help matters.
  • Epileptic Trees:
    • Many fans have theorized that Seles is a missing princess of sort since that possibility is even discussed in-game. The difference is that many believe her to be related (by law) to Suki herself.
    • Then there's Chelsea, a character that looks suspiciously like Suki.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • Bosses in the second half of the game can get two attacks per turn. If they're Poisoned or Burned, that also means they'll take extra damage on both turns and their HP meter will melt away.
    • Setting up an "Impossible" escape in the Escape Practice mini-game with minimal time and Level 10 restraints on everything except Wrists can still allow Seles to escape almost immediately and gain 1-2 Escape Levels every 20 seconds.
  • I Knew It!: Many theorized that Alyssa and Dariana would make an appearance in this game due to how their story ended in the first game and the fact that from the beginning they knew that there would be pirates among the antagonists. It was eventually confirmed by the character artist by posting her Battle Art in DeviantArt.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: The Special skills can miss, and it's not that rare. That means that you can spend one or two turns accumulating TP for your skill, only for it to miss. It will happen.
  • Self-Imposed Challenge: Like the first game, some players have attempted a "Perfect Stealth" challenge where merely getting spotted by a non-story required captor results in at least Surrendering and having to complete the escape game or immediately Giving Up for a Game Over and trying again.
  • That One Sidequest: Finding the 7 daughters of the Tinte family in Alverona as the party is limited to just Seles and Eileen and nearly every battle that's up against more than just one of the daughters can boil down to a Luck-Based Mission based on which skills the AI decides to spam. It's especially bad against the two Unsavory Men as they have Chloroform.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The initial announcement that the game will not have ''Game Over'' scenes (with a few exceptions) caused some minor backlash towards the game as the first game's Game Over scenes were one its most popular features. Since release, this has been corrected.
