• Alas, Poor Scrappy: As controversial as Manny is in the fanbase, his gruesome murder by Sammy caused many to feel that it was way grimdark.
• Ass Pull: While Susan being a psychopathic serial killer was at least predictable beforehand, the revelation that he was actually a male gay pornstar Sammy Twitchdic is considered to come out of nowhere, especially since we see Greg having saw him naked before.
• Fridge Brilliance: Despite what one would assume, Susan being Sammy Twitchdic actually makes sense when you remember that he outright admitted to killing Manny, and what's to say that he didn't just kill Susan and impersonate her for the rest of November. And as for why Greg didn't notice until Sammy revealed himself, it's possible that Susan is such a weirdo that none of Twitchdic's actions seemed all that out of place and his family are rather dysfunctional at the best of times, hence why Bryon was able to assassinate most of the family without suspicion. Furthermore, Sammy Twitchdic could've learned how to hide his genitals in combination with twerking to draw attention away from them, in combination with Greg being disgusted with seeing his mother naked, all of which still allows Greg to be shocked when the time comes for Susan to reveal themselves as Sammy Twitchdic.
• Fridge Logic:
  • Greg is horrified to see that Susan is the gay pornstar Sammy Twitchdic upon seeing his penis. However, considering the fact that Greg saw him naked beforehand, it comes off as odd that he's only shocked now.
  • During Thanksgiving, Sammy (as Susan) takes off his clothes and twerks to get the Heffley men to nut. Sammy asks the rest of the women to join in, none of which take notice in the fact that Sammy basically exposed himself.
