• Ensemble Dark Horse: Chiyo. What with the amount of people upset over her being the first death in the story and how many comments stating she's someones favorite character.
  • Among the survivors, Masaru is this as well. He doesn't get as much focus as the others, but kept getting votes for free time events.
• Harsher in Hindsight: During Chapter 2, the author revealed what some characters notes from Monokuma said. Arata is said to not be a virgin and has slept with people. Then his Resort Mode section and Ticking Of The Clock make heavy implications that he was sexually assaulted and raped by the girls who modeled his designs, with Junko Enoshima possibly being one of them, and no one took his claims seriously. This was later confirmed in her response to someone asking about it.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The author notes that Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls also happens to have a character named Masaru, and Masaru Daimon's name was revealed not long after she'd started writing the fic.
  • This fic has an Ultimate Assassin who turns out to be one of the good guys. In Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, it's revealed in the midgame Maki's true identity is the Ultimate Assassin, and she's one of the good guys. Even better yet, Shuuya nearly kills Saemi in revenge for Miyako's Heroic Suicide (and kills her during her execution to prevent her from going out on her own terms). Maki tries to kill Kokichi (the supposed mastermind at the time) after he abducts Kaito, and later offers to kill the real mastermind, Tsumugi.
• Narm: This bit of Captain Obvious from the narrator just after the first victim's death.
  There was no way to deny it at that point. Chiyo was definitely dead. And someone among them was her murderer.
