• Fanon: Fans has theorized that the three thugs hired by O'Shea (Frankie, Mickey and Angel) were the same three unnamed thugs who got away with raping and killing Kersey's wife decades ago, due to their similar appearances. This also allow some closure on Kersey's original journey of revenge, although the creators never commented on their identity.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: Paul Kersey's last words in the film (and by extension, the Death Wish series) are: "If you need any help, give me a call." This was Charles Bronson's final theatrical role, and hearing his most famous character end his series on a hopeful note has more resonance now than it did in 1994.
• Special Effect Failure: Freddie Flakes turns into a weird-looking wax model before Kersey blows him up with the rigged soccer ball.
