• Adaptation Displacement: Many people don't know Death Note even had a pilot.
• Alternate Character Interpretation: Why did Taro choose to keep the Death Note at the end? Does he want to use it in case he feels like someone has to die? Does he feel like the notebook is safer in his hands and destroying it is unnecessary? Or is he fated to go down the same path that Light did in the main series? Though, the last interpretation is unlikely as Taro receives a Happy Ending and prolonged use of the Death Note results in the user living a life of misery.
• The Woobie: Taro is bullied at school and spends most of the story ridden with guilt over his Accidental Murder of his classmates.
