• Base-Breaking Character: Krieg. Either you'll applaud him for his refusal to coddle criminals, or you'll think he's an asshole and wish he'd be more lenient and sociable. There's a middle ground, though: some people want him to be more social with the Team, while also wanting the Justice League to accept the fact that maybe their way isn't always the right way.
• Crazy Is Cool: Krieg. He's fearless and utterly ruthless, and he effectively weaponizes both traits to defeat superhuman foes.
• Fridge Horror: A speculation among fans is that the Imperium exists in an alternate reality in which the Light won and Vandal Savage is the emperor.
• Growing the Beard: A common criticism of the story—or at least chapters 1-32—is that it rarely, if ever, changed any events from the cartoon aside from Krieg butting heads with the rest of the Team and small bits of Chaos antics in the background. Then the Chaos invasion kicked off, bringing with it all the terrors of battling such forces, and the criticism died down.
• Jerkass Woobie: Queen Bee is not a sympathetic character at all, but the grisly fate she suffers in Chapter 34 has made several readers actually feel sorry for her.
• Misaimed Fandom: Krieg has plenty of fans who unironically praise his actions and behavior, in spite of his many objectively negative qualities that make him just as much of a threat to those around him as the people he fights. The reader is meant to see his actions as warranted only on certain occasions, not all of the time.
• Moment of Awesome: The end of Chapter 33, in which Krieg completely discards the Justice League's Thou Shalt Not Kill philosophy, slaughters a group of Chaos cultists, then arms himself with as many lethal weapons as he can carry and goes off to slaughter more cultists.
• Rooting for the Empire: Reviews of Chapter 29 show that several readers want Krieg to join the Light, or at least become Deathstroke's apprentice and form a third faction that opposes the Light and the Justice League.
• Ship-to-Ship Combat: Krieg/Rachel vs. Krieg/Ravager.
