That was 2011. Then in 2020, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin was released, followed by its sequel in 2023, which told the story of Mikey mastering numerous martial art styles and his brothers’ weapons while honing his ninjitsu to avenge his fallen family. While the battle was initially criticized for its biased character analysis of Mikey, it really aged like milk after 2020 with many fans calling for a redo with unbiased character analysis.
