• Creator Worship: Oh, Yes. Given his extensive work in many different bands, his impressive musical skills across a variety of fields and his reputation as an extremely friendly and charming person to both fans and other musicians, it's really not surprising he ended up with this.
• Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: During Lemmy's funeral, Dave himself recounted a story on how when first meeting Lemmy, he mentioned having been in Nirvana and gushed about being a huge fan of his work. Lemmy's first words to Dave? "Hey, I'm sorry about what happened to your friend".
• Memetic Mutation: Dave Grohl is actually Jesus Christ.
• Moment of Awesome: After missing a jump off stage and breaking his ankle in June 2015, Dave returned to the stage in 15 minutes. In a wheelchair and with a paramedic bandaging his ankle, he continued to perform for the crowd.
• Overshadowed by Controversy: In December 2014, Dave finally got his first solo Rolling Stone magazine cover. Sadly, that moment was completely overshadowed by the "A Rape on Campus" article in the same issue.^note That story, wherein a student claimed she was sexually assaulted multiple times and her school covered it up, sparked a wave of mass protests, but turned out to be so poorly researched – no attempt was ever made by the author to talk with any of the boys accused or the police to corroborate her allegations, and independent fact-checkers quickly discovered the student had lied about everything – that the magazine was forced to retract it and blackball the author. The University of Virginia, where the nonexistent rapes occurred, has considered suing for defamation.
