- Ass Pull: Hermione's feelings for Ron in the sequel are canonical, but we saw no sign of them in the original when Hermione had no complaints at all about Ron getting his wand serviced by Jaiden.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The sex scene in Chapter 10, which appears out of nowhere, in a completely different narrative style from the rest of the fic, straight after Jaiden attempts suicide. It's removed in some versions of the fic, which might actually be for the better.
- Narm: Plenty to go around, with "My preciousss" being the most prevalent example.
