• Complete Monster: The wicked Echidna is the mother of monsters. Surviving the flood as the Leviathan, Echidna hounds Noah's ark to feed off the animals there, intending to destroy it and kill Noah's family without tribute. When her own children come to investigate, Echidna happily kills them as well. When the sorcerer Shrae attempts to bargain with her, Echidna leaves him to drown to attack the Dark Ark, mentally dominating her monster children to feed her Shrae's family and remaining captives, while intending on breeding them to provide a fresh supply of meat.
• Magnificent Bastard: Shrae, a sorcerer long damned by his devil worship, is bent to see that his family not follow him to hell. Constructing the Dark Ark for monsters at the devil's behest, Shrae allows it to appear a form of sanctuary, only to trap those aboard as food for the monsters. During The Great Flood, Shrae fends off plots from the vampire Nex and easily disables him by poisoning the rains with his magic blood, later being able to outwit and destroy the mother of monsters Echidna herself.
