• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The garbageman's brief scene in the cartoon.
• Jerkass Woobie: Daffy is a pretty big jerk in this cartoon, given how he runs a sham diner, rudely dismisses Speedy when the mouse comes to his door begging for food, and clearly derives pleasure from the idea of cooking the mouse. However, given the predicament he's in with the vicious El Supremo (and the fact that he loses to both Speedy and El Supremo at the end of the cartoon), it's hard not to feel at least a little sorry for him here.
• Unintentional Period Piece: Daffy's "piece de resistance" when flavoring his rubber mice is DDT. DDT is a pesticide that was frequently used in the 1960's but banned in the US the following decade, due to the hazards associated with its overuse.
